Breadwinner - Supplementary Cig (1994)

Side A: Knighton / Exploder
Side B: Turtlehead

Label: Merge Records
Matrix: MRG 052.5
Encoding: 48 kHz / 24 bit, V0 MP3

I can't seem to find much on this band online. I picked up a copy of their discography disc entitled "The Burner" and later picked this up through the online Merge Records store when purchasing a copy of Polvo's "Celebrate The New Dark Age". Here's their semi-bio from Merge's website:

"Breadwinner, based out of Richmond Virginia, was comprised of: Pen Rollings (guitar), Bobby Donne (bass), and Chris Farmer (drums). Their music is the definition of math rock, a calculated and electrifying mash-up of metal signatures. Merge Records released two 7-inch singles and one full-length CD, "The Burner" (1994) after the band had broken up.

through rock and stitch it up with some warped fucking chords fucking destroying life and creating new lives and new people and completely just destroying everything in the way like a fire engine not taking shit penetrating into hearts and minds of the vulnerable tight ass musicians who regurgitate it later into second generation math that isn't even closely resembling to breadwinner who completely fucking rip through everything that is, i love you
can you give me their email?" (From Merge Records)

Nice Nice - There Will Be Slogans (2002)

Side A: Still Flux Bandits / Call Reluctance
Side B: There Will Be Slogans

Label: White Denim Records
Matrix: White Denim #3
Encoding: 48 kHz / 24 bit, V0 MP3

This record was loaned to me specifically for inclusion to this site. I was not at all familiar with these release until earlier today, the only solid information I found was from the release page over at the Discogs database. This record does appear to be their first release, it was put out in 2002 and was a year before their excellent full length from Temporary Residence entitled "Chrome". This 7" is limited to 530 copies, all of which are pressed on coke-bottle clear vinyl.

This record was in excellent condition and allowed for a very easy/clean transfer. Thanks to Estevez for this brilliant loaner!
